A stone's throw from the parish church is the rustic and serene Sintjansberghof: a stately square farm from the eighteenth century, which has been restored to a holiday home.
The gite contains a large sitting area downstairs and a dining room with open kitchen. These open out directly onto the terrace.…
Upstairs there are 3 rooms for 4 persons and 1 duplex room for 2 persons (1st floor) + 4 persons (2nd floor). Each room has its own bathroom with toilet, shower and sink. The holiday homes are non-smoking (they do have a covered terrace). In the garden of the gite there is a climbing tower with swing, slide, sandbox, ... where children can enjoy themselves to their heart's content. t
There is also a petanque court available. There is also a large orchard with grazing sheep and Léon, the alpaca. Guests can also use the swimming pond in the courtyard of the farm (can be locked for children if desired). There is a bbq and fire bowl available. It is possible to rent a wood-fired hot tub & barrel sauna.
The unique square farm is located in Maarkedal in the middle of a valuable agricultural area, within walking distance of the Taaienberg, the Eikenberg, the Koppenberg, ... in short, in the middle of the Flemish cycling events.
On the other hand, the historic cities such as Oudenaarde (with the center round Van Vlaanderen) and Ronse are only a few kilometers away.
The farm is also located in the middle of a hiking and cycling paradise (MTB) where fauna and flora thrive. The nearby Kluisbos is a recreation area. The nearby nature reserve 'Het Burreken' covers an area of approximately 35 hectares and is definitely worth a visit.
Furthermore, the Zwalm region, Pays de Collines, ... are more than worth a visit.
